What’s your role at BarrettClark and what do you do?

I joined the company on May 11th 2015 as a Partner to work in the research and delivery team to work on a number of Executive Search projects. Essentially my role involves mapping companies, markets or job roles, identifying talent and then getting hold of that talent for our clients. After a very good grounding in this part of the business for the remainder of 2015 I will be well prepared to move into a role where I can effectively present our services to new and existing clients.

What did you do before BarrettClark

I’m fortunate to have spent over 10 years working in some interesting and prestigious businesses – I successfully led the sales teams at The Harbour Club, Chelsea as well as The Hideaways Club – and in both organisations I regularly dealt with both demanding and high net worth clients which was challenging and often entertaining.

What annoys you?

  • Celebrities with no talent who are famous for being famous
  • Cristiano Ronaldo and Floyd Mayweather
  • Customer service where the person serving you couldn’t care less and takes their job for granted

Who is your hero?

Nelson Mandela, how he endured 18 years in Robben Island and didn’t come out full of hatred and resentment is unbelievable.

When you were a youngster, what was your ambition?

I wanted to be the next Des Lynam and present the sports coverage on the BBC. There is still time I hope.

Any pearls of Wisdom?

If you get told any juicy gossip keep it to yourself, otherwise you will never be told anything interesting in the future.

One thing you didn’t know about William

I survived two potential deadly animal/reptile attacks in one week. I was bitten by a spitting cobra snake in South Africa on monday and nearly eaten alive by a group of baboons in Zambia on Friday.
