The London Prepares series enables the Olympic committee to test key aspects of the operations ahead of next year’s Games – such as results, scoring and timing systems, the fields of play, the venues and the people who will be working to ensure the Games run smoothly.

The following events are to be run at the beginning of 2012.

Gymnastics – 10–18 January 2012
International Gymnastics, a qualification event for the London 2012 Games, will see some of the world’s best gymnasts compete in Artistic, Trampoline and Rhythmic Gymnastics competitions at North Greenwich Arena (also known as The O2).

Track Cycling – 16–19 February 2012
The final round of the 2011-12 UCI Track Cycling World Cup Classics will bring the best track riders from around the world to the brand new Velodrome on the Olympic Park, purpose built for the London 2012 Games.

Diving – 20–26 February 2012
The 18th FINA Diving World Cup is the last opportunity for divers to qualify for the Diving competition at the London 2012 Olympic Games. It will be the first competitive sporting event to be staged in the new Aquatics Centre on the Olympic Park.
